Prime Minister of Sri Lanka in Dhaka: The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived in Dhaka to attend the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Golden Jubilee of Independence.
A SriLankan Airlines plane carrying him landed at Hazrat Shahjalal Airport at 10 am on Friday (March 19).
The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka arrived in Dhaka on a two-day visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Mahinda Raja Paks is accompanied by a 26-member delegation including the country’s Minister of
ducation, Minister of State for Regional Cooperation, Minister of State for Weaving and Textiles, Minister of State for Rural Housing and Housing Industries, Minister of State for Finance, and senior government officials.

At the airport, Rajapaksa was given an official guard of honor with 21 song salutes by a smart contingent of the military. From here he will go to the National Memorial in Savar. Rajapaksa will pay homage to the martyrs of the 1971 war of liberation.
Then he will come to Hotel Intercontinental in Shahbag. He will stay at this hotel during his visit to Dhaka.
The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka will join the National Parade Ground at 4.30 pm as the guest of honor to mark the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and the golden jubilee of independence. He is scheduled to address the event paying homage to Bangabandhu.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hosted a dinner and cultural program in honor of Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at the ballroom of Hotel Intercontinental that evening. He will join there.
On the last day of the visit, he paid homage to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi No. 32 on Saturday and will visit the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum.
Later, the Sri Lankan Prime Minister will take part in a bilateral meeting with Sheikh Hasina at the Prime Minister’s Office. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting will focus on various aspects of the two countries’ interests and areas of mutual cooperation.
The two leaders are also expected to discuss trade, investment, agriculture, coastal shipping, education, and information technology.
In the afternoon, the President’s official residence Bangabhaban President. The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka will pay a courtesy call on Abdul Hamid and leave Dhaka for Colombo that evening.
